Book a Free Introductory Call with a Sleep Expert
How to book a free introductory call with a sleep expert — what the call includes, what it does not, and how to use it to establish whether personalised sleep coaching is right for you.
A free introductory call with a sleep expert is the most efficient way to establish whether personalised sleep coaching is the right fit for your situation — before you invest time or money in a programme.
It is not a coaching session, and a responsible practitioner will be honest about that. It is a structured first conversation: enough to understand your situation, discuss your goals and determine whether the programme is genuinely suited to what you need — including when it is not.
What the call should include
A genuine discussion of your current sleep situation and what you have already tried
An honest assessment of whether your problem is functional or potentially clinical
A clear view of your goals — not just 'better sleep', but better energy, focus and performance
An explanation of what the paid programme involves and how long it runs
A straight answer on whether the engagement is right for you — including when it is not
If the entire call is a sales pitch for a fixed product rather than a conversation about your specific needs, that is a signal. A credible introductory call is a two-way assessment of fit — not a one-way pitch.
What the call is not
A free introductory call is not coaching. Meaningful sleep coaching takes several weeks — an assessment, baseline establishment, data review, protocol design and refinement. That cannot be delivered in a single free conversation, and a practitioner who pretends otherwise is not being honest about what the work actually involves.
The call is the honest compromise: enough to establish fit and set expectations, without pretending a 20-minute conversation can replace a multi-week programme.
When a clinical assessment comes first
A responsible sleep expert will use the introductory call to redirect you to a clinical assessment first if a medical cause is suspected. Loud snoring with daytime fatigue, witnessed breathing pauses, irresistible daytime sleep attacks, or insomnia persisting for more than three months with significant daytime impairment and worsening — those are not problems for coaching. They are signals for a clinical pathway, and a credible expert will say so rather than taking you on as a coaching client.
How to prepare for the call
Be honest about what you have already tried and what has and has not worked
Describe your actual schedule — bedtime, wake time, consistency, travel
Mention any wearable you already use and how long you have been using it
Think about your real goals — what would 'better' actually look like for you?
Note any medical symptoms or concerns so the expert can advise appropriately
Book a call with The Circadian Advantage
The Circadian Advantage offers a structured first conversation with Angus Buckle — a sleep and human performance coach who has been coaching since 2007 and has helped more than 5,000 people through personalised coaching, professional education and corporate talks.
The call is a genuine assessment of fit, not a sales pitch. If the programme is right for your situation, the next steps are explained openly. If it is not — including when a clinical assessment should come first — that guidance is given honestly.
Programmes run from four to twelve weeks and are available by application only. The first step is a short application, followed by the introductory conversation to establish whether the engagement is the right use of your time and investment.
